On October 17, 2020 our studio was lost to a fire as a direct result of a Natural Gas explosion in another part of the complex in which Blue Sprocket Sound was located. At this time the details surrounding the incident are still in question, but the event was ruled an accident by the local Fire Marshall.
The event impacted several other area businesses, and while some have been able to make the necessary repairs to continue operations or relocate to another part of Harrisonburg, our facility is a complete loss and will require a lengthy rebuild process to continue.
We are currently in the process of working with our insurance company, and other necessary parties to begin the process of bringing Blue Sprocket Sound back to life. Our previous studio facility took a little over 9 months to design and build so we could be ready for clients, and was continually updated over the course of seven years. Naturally, when we built the studio the first time the world was not in the midst of a global pandemic. Due to the Pandemic we expect the process of designing and building a new facility to take much longer, but we do intend to be back!
We want to thank everyone who has offered words of encouragement, donated time or funds, and generally been supportive during this time. Its with the support of the incredible community in which we exist that we will be back and better than ever before!
